PopRally Presents 60 Seconds of Fame with Conrad Ventur

by Emma Claire Goodman

Inspired by, and in celebration of MoMA’s Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures exhibition, PopRally invites you to your own sixty seconds of fame on Thursday, January 20th, at 8:00 pm. Following an exclusive viewing of the exhibition, guests will be given the opportunity to record their own “screen test,” directed by the artist Conrad Ventur

Warhol is renowned for his wide variety of mediums, particularly his paintings, screen prints, and films. The Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures exhibition celebrates Warhol’s 1960’s “screen-tests,” silent, black-and-white, moving portraits of artistic “superstars” such as Allen Ginsberg, Nico, Marcel Duchamp, Edie Sedgewick, Bob Dylan, and Salvador Dalí. If you’ve  never had a chance to see the screen tests, they are totally amazing and beautiful.

Conrad Ventur has previously recreated ten of these screen tests, featuring their original subjects.

Screen tests recorded by guests of the events will be projected on the walls of MoMA’s Marron Atrium, and uploaded to the PopRally and the Andy Warhol: Moving Pictures

websites.

Music will be provided by WFMU DJ Evan “Funk” Davies.

Admission is $15 in advance, $17 at the door, and include a cocktail reception and a ticket to record one screen test. Tickets are available online at MoMA’s website. Participants must be twenty one or older.
