Part Time Rapper/Full Time Asshole The Game Spits On Female Fans

by Intern Chrislande

In repulsive news of the day, The Game, formerly of 50 Cent’s G-Unit, spat on female fans in Australia:

The allegedly grown-ass man leaned over a railing and spat on a couple of curious fans, bringing to mind the question, “Who the hell does this idiot think he is?” Of course, this isn’t his first offense; gossip site Necole Bitchie (sigh) confirms that he and his crew are notoriously disrespectful to their female fans, as shown in this video of them groping a woman on stage:

When she refused to “show her titties,” she was tossed offstage.

I try to defend hip hop by pointing out that plenty of musical genres have misogynistic messages, but rappers sometimes take that shit to the next level, and make it impossible for me to argue on their behalf. Remember a month ago when Too $hort recommended that black boys sexually assault young girls? Prime example. Noted bullies Rush Limbaugh and Don Imus should toast some of these artists for their shared interest in degrading and abusing women.

Obviously, there are a lot of sociological issues at play here, especially when it comes to black men and masculinity. I know that overt displays of some types of masculinity lead to men doing some sketchy shit to women, but this goes beyond disrespectful–it’s downright disgusting. Just as we put pressure on the Limbaughs of the world, we need to do the same to rappers that forget how to treat their fellow human beings. The Game should be ashamed. And to think, I used to be a fan.
