If you’re in New York and feeling crafty, we’ve got you covered on February 9 at Brooklyn Bazaar (150 Greenpoint Ave). Following a successful event last November, Dusty Rose Vintage is presenting a rendition of Our Damn Selves, the store’s independent business marketplace that aims to raise funds for important causes while promoting local artists and retailers. Last year, the fundraiser benefited Planned Parenthood, but this year’s focus is on queer advocacy and fighting homelessness.
The entry fee is $3, and all money raised will go to Housing Works, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that those living with HIV/AIDS have access to housing and health care. Over 30 vendors, including many queer and trans creators, will be selling their goods and sharing information on how to help LGBTQ+ initiatives. Towards the night’s end, musical project Mur will be performing a small set.
Check out more information about the event here. We’ll see you there!
