From Austin to Austria, a dance troupe dressed in neon sweat-gear has been taking over the streets. Using their bodies as living sculptures, performers tag buildings by contorting themselves into bizarre formations and cramming into stairwells and doorways. The installations only last for fleeting moments — basically, just long enough for a camera-phone wielding crowd to take notice and string along.
The on-the-run art show is called “Bodies in Urban Spaces.” Choreographer Willi Dorner says the project’s mission is “to point out the urban functional structure and to uncover the restricted movement possibilities and behavious as well as rules and limitations.” I just think it looks neat! Plus it reminds me of being in high school and trying to stuff all my friends into one car. Anyone seen it in real life? If you’re like me and haven’t had a chance, have a look-see at this video:
