The 13th Annual New York Burlesque Festival is coming to you September 24th through the 27th. Since it’s premiere in 2003, the festival has attracted sold-out crowds and it’s the largest and most acclaimed burlesque festival in the world. This September, Thirsty Girl & Pontani Productions will once again serve up 4 nights of “glitter and glamour in Gotham.” The festival will include over 120 eye-popping performances from international leading burlesque and variety entertainers at five of NYC’s hottest nightclubs. In addition to enjoying tassels and tail feathers, audiences will be entertained by live music, international DJ’s, variety and circus performers, burlesque, boylesque, and a shopping boutique where you can try on custom corsets, peruse pasties, hair ornaments, vintage dresses, lingerie and even partake in a pin-up make-over.
Here’s what you can expect:
Thursday, September 24th at Bell House: The Thursday night Teaser Party, hosted by Shelly the Singing Siren Watson & Bastard Keith, will include performances by over a dozen national and international entertainers including Mr. Exotic World winner Russell Bruner, Eva La Feva, Gala Delicious, Jonny Porkpie, DJ Momotaro and much more.
Friday, September 25th at Brooklyn Bowl: The Premiere Party, hosted by Albert Cadabra, at will feature over 20 burlesque beauties including The Ruby Revue, LuLu Liqueur, Rita Lynch, Sergei, Mr. Gorgeous, and many more. Expect high energy and cutting edge burlesque at this legendary night. DJ Fresh Prince of Darkness will turn the evening into a late night dance party flanked by some of NYC’s hottest go-go dancers.
Saturday, September 26th at BB Kings: This magical night will be hosted by The World Famous BOB and showcases only the finest Burlesque performers from around the globe, including burlesque legend Judith Stein, Kitty Bang Bang, Dirty Martini, Midnite Martini, Angie Pontani, The Peek-A-Boo Revue, and more. You will enjoy live music with special guest Grammy-winning Brian Newman Quintet! The show will be followe by an amazing dance crazed after-party in the adjacent Lucille’s bar with DJ Bill Coleman.
Sunday September 27th at the Tippler: This daytime Burlesque Bazaar and Showcase will feature a show hosted by Dr. Lucky with performances from some of NYC’s favorite teasers. The Burlesque Bazaar will also be filled with amazing vendors of vintage clothing, accessories, and of course pasties. This event will also include a Q&A with burlesque legend Judith Stein, music from DJ Joe, and a live pin-up photo shoot from 2pm – 6pm.
Sunday, September 27th at Highline Ballroom: The Golden Pastie Awards and Super Club Stage Show will conclude the festival. Hosted by Scotty the Blue Bunny, the show will include live performances and an awards ceremony that both honors and pokes fun at the world’s finest burlesque performers with a double D sized Golden Pastie for winners. Categories include “Positively perfect posterior” and “Most likely to win RuPaul’s Drag Race”. Expect stellar performances and an evening of hi jinx and don’t miss the exclusive red carpet walk that kicks off the night!
