Neko Case: BUST Cover Girl Helps Out Furry Friends with New PSA

by Katharine Ernst

Neko Case, BUST‘s upcoming October/November cover girl and crooning songstress extraordinaire, has a new album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, out on Anti- September 3rd, and it’s some of her most revealing stuff yet. Her unique, full voice ain’t hiding anything on this record.

Since her move to Vermont, Case seems to be showing a deeper side of herself to her audience. Once relatively private, her music has taken a turn for the raw and telling, and the musician is posting tons of updates on her dogs, her farm, and finding love in the mundane parts of life, on Twitter and other social media. But recently, she’s devoting a lot of her presence to her furry little friends.

Case is a huge supporter of animal rights and so, accordingly, just released this PSA for Best Friends Animal Society, which aims to prevent the killing of dogs and cats in animal shelters. For every share of this PSA, Neko and her record label, Anti-, will donate $5 to Best Friends. She has also committed to playing this PSA before her upcoming shows in support of the cause. But in the meantime, you can get a take a listen to The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You at NPR’s First Listen.

My fellow BUSTies, let’s help out our little furry friends and share this video as much as you can! And don’t forget to check out Neko Case on the cover of BUST’s October/November issue, on newsstands September 24th! (Subscribers get it a li’l earlier, so hit subscribe if you haven’t already!)
