Nancy Pelosi Filibustered For Dreamers — For NINE HOURS

Nancy Pelosi strutted her stuff on the House floor yesterday. Wearing four-inch heels, the House Minority Leader filibustered for a record setting nine hours, trying to ensure protection for Dreamers. The heels doubled her glory, which you can read about over at The Cut

Today’s Google doodle is of German artist, Paula Modersohn-Becker, the first woman to ever paint a naked self-portrait. An influential 20th century artist, read more about her at TIME.  

Adam Rippon, the openly gay, national figure skating champion, turned down a meeting with Vice President Mike Pence. Citing Pence’s anti-LGBTQ sentiments, Rippon said, “I wouldn’t go out of my way to meet somebody like that.” Read Rippon’s entire response at People.

Trying to hop on the feminist bandwagon, Sports Illustrated decided to use women’s bodies as objects, but in a new way — painting slogans, instead of swimsuits, on naked women. As if the Trump administration couldn’t get any worse in the way it treats women, Rob Porter, a White House aide, has been accused of domestic violence by two of his ex-wives, Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby, and a third woman who remains anonymous. His abuse was documented via photographs, which you can see along with the full story, over at CNN. 

Olympic swimmer Ariana Kukors accused her former coach Sean Hutchison, of sexual assault and abuse. In light of the recent Larry Nassar case, her allegations make me think that there just might be 200 more women about to come forward. CBS News has the full report investigating of Kukors’ claims.
