If you like mysteriously dark yet candy-sweet indie pop, Chaos Chaos’s S is the EP for you. Chaos Chaos is comprised of multitalented Brooklynite sisters Chloe and Asy Saavedra, formerly child stars of the indie pop band Smoosh. They play an array of instruments, including synthesizers, acoustic piano, many different types of drums, and saxophone, and they also use experimental vocals. Like BUST favorite Amanda Palmer, they funded their album through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Chaos Chaos recently released the official music video for their track “My Hands.” The video shows the sisters running and twirling around through the wilderness while they both sing. “My Hands” starts off with a catchy riff, which is almost immediately accompanied by a hypnotizing disco beat.
The third song on the EP, “Antibiotics,” has a deep and powerful bass and a crunchy distorted guitar, and it’s a perfect example of how the two sisters harmonize. Chaos Chaos’s songs have heavily layered echoing voices and a dreamy texture of synthesized melodies. It’s an unusual sound that is catching the music world off guard.
