From April 10th until August 11th, planet of luck and expansion, Jupiter, will be roaming backwards in the sign of Sagittarius. When Jupiter moves at its regular speed, often times we are able to achieve knowledge and higher ideals. Jupiter retrograde will make us revisit and reassess past insights and philosophies, as we try to achieve deeper understanding of the world around us.
Contrary to popular belief, not all retrograde motions yield negative results. Being the luckiest planet in the solar system, Jupiter retrograde will help us find a middle ground in all areas of life. Known as an extremist, especially when transiting its current sign of Sagittarius, can be an extremist. But, now we are all ready to put down our fanatical views in place of more moderate ideals.
According to astrologer Nina Kahn @rainbowgrams, “Jupiter retrograde offers us a chance to dig deep and begin carving out new paths when it comes to our life philosophies, spiritual connections, defining success, and even romantic relationships. While reviewing the past and reassessing our values can definitely trigger both heartaches and headaches, Jupiter’s posi, happy-go-lucky energy will help guide you toward the most abundant, glittering post-RX paths — if you’re willing to ride its retro-wave and do the inner work and planning, of course.”
Astrologer Steph Koyfman of @thedailyhunch, who will be speaking at The Affairs NYC states, “Jupiter Retrograde is usually pretty subtle, but you might find that these next couple of months will be better-suited for introspection or integration. At the very least, do an internal check-in to make sure you have the capacity to hold all the things you’ve been calling in, and maybe clear out some space if you’ve been veering toward excess.”
Astrologer and meme lord, Alby Toribio, of @gnarlyastrology adds, “Jupiter is the planet of luck, our belief, our truth, where we are comfortable, where we are optimistic, where we see ourselves grow. When Jupiter is in its ruling sign of Sagittarius, it amplifies these qualities. Jupiter in Sagittarius is like ‘THE SECRET,’ a mantra/belief that as long you think it and believe it, you will receive whatever you ask of. And when Jupiter goes backward in its ruling sign, you will be asked to re-examine, reshape, and remember what your beliefs are, what you believe in, what you want more out of in this life, and what your vision is for yourself or the world in this lifetime.”
Kahn warns only warning to this transit, is that we may be feeling “overly optimistic during this backspin — and you don’t want to end up feeling duped by your own feelings.”
