Tell us about yourself!

My name is Maegan Hayward. My company is Red’s Vintage Threads. We sell amazing vintage clothes from the 40’s-90’s at super affordable prices! We are based out of the East Village in NYC.

How did you get started?

I have been a thrifting fool since I was a little girl and my Dad used to take me to second hand stores and flea markets. I’ve been selling at Flea Markets, on eBay, and on Etsy for years and recently started up my own website. Vintage is a serious passion.

What’s inspiring you right now?

John Waters, Pee-Wee Herman, Amy Sedaris, Vintage Pin-Ups & Music like Heart, Van Halen, David Bowie, & T-Rex are always an inspiration!

Any advice for those starting out in the vintage industry?

Buy and sell vintage pieces that you truly love. They may be hard to give up but you’ll love seeing them go to good homes!

What are you most looking forward to at the BUST Magazine Craftacular and Food Fair this year?

That’s so hard to say with so many cool activities going on and so many fabulous vendors attending. The DJ sets sound great and the make and take events all look amazing! And of course I can’t wait for the food!!

Check out Maegan’s work, as well as the amazing wares of over 250 handmade, vintage, and fancy-food vendors, at the BUST Magazine Holiday Craftacular & Food Fair.

It’s all taking place on Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street, at 6th Ave.) in N.Y.C. The Craftacular will run from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM both days.
