Maybe Birds & Fish Hated 2010 As Much As I Did?

by Molly Labell

Residents of Beebe, Arkansas woke up on New Year’s Day to massive hangovers and kitchens full of empty champagne bottles. Also,  5,000 DEAD BLACKBIRDS stretching over a one mile area. While officials still can’t say for certain what caused the mass death, some are speculating that New Year’s Eve fireworks are to blame. Crazier still is that a day before and only 125 miles away, 100,000 dead fish were found in the Arkansas river. And today, 500 dead birds (including the red-winged blackbirds found in Beebe) were discovered along a quarter mile of Louisiana highway. Well, 2011 can only get better from here, right? Right!?!? Yeah, we’re all totally screwed.

BUST’s resident conspiracy theorists and wildlife enthusiasts are trying to figure out what’s going on, but we need your help! Any ideas as to what could possibly be happening, readers?
