Macho, Macho Men?

BUST-y lady, and our lovely managing editor, Emily Rems appeared as a guest this morning on the NPR show “The Takeaway” to discuss the death of the “macho man” in present day cinema. Today, two very different movies are being released in theaters nationally – “Eat, Pray, Love” and “The Expendables.”

The question at hand here is, when a movie is so crammed with tried and true, and stereotypically “strong” actors, and all of those actors happen to be over forty, does this predict the death of “the macho man?” The Takeaway seems to think so, or at least, an evolution into something different.
