Back in the ’90s, Massachusetts native Melissa Ferrick began her prolific career as a solo alt-country artist. As an openly gay singer-songwriter, she gained popularity in the LGBT community with her songs about her love life and personal struggles. Ferrick has been working tirelessly, releasing an album almost every year consecutively since 1993 and now teaching courses at Berklee College of Music. She’s showing absolutely no signs of stopping, with her latest record the truth is set for release June 4th. Plus she’s about to leave on a big-ass tour that’ll last until December! Shit’s cray. We’ve got a sneak peak from her album, with the brutally truthful “Wreck Me,” a track about a destructive relationship.
