Lebanese Reporter Rima Karaki Has the Best Response After Being Told to Shut Up

During an interview with an Islamist sheikh, news anchor Rima Karaki probably didn’t expect her subject to demand she stop talking. The sheikh, Hani al-Sibai, is known for being an extremist, most recently he was accused of supporting the terrorists of al-Qaeda.

Now, Sibai can add sexist to his list of radical tendencies – during the short-lived interview, he can be heard saying, “It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you. You are a woman who…” before Karaki cuts him off completely. Take a look:

 

Stopping an interview on live television takes some serious guts, and Karaki has proved to feminists everywhere that doing the right thing makes a bigger impact than doing nothing at all. Hats off to you, girl – thanks for taking down misogyny in the classiest way possible.
