If, like me, you’ve always resolved to make your own clothes one day but found dressmaking patterns leave you cold, DIY Couture’s range of books may have the answer! Marrying ideals of craftsmanship from the rarefied world of high-fashion Couture with those of the anti-fast-fashion DIY movement, their promotion of understanding the basic building blocks of garments is refreshing and empowering, encouraging folks to “get up to their elbows in the 3D world of creation”.
DIY Couture’s founder Rosie will be at the Christmas Craftacular in London doing a live demonstration of the book ‘How to create a pleated skirt’ from 3-4pm.
