Laser Cats Immortalized In Stationery

by Emma Orlow

If you have ever wanted to know what the brain of a Portland hipster cat lady looks like, well, then Lisa Riddle is your gal. Lisa runs the Etsy shop, “Nowvember” devoted to handmade stationery of the unusual variety. Her moleskine notebooks feature everything from vampire cats, cats beaming laser rainbows, cats vomiting rainbows, and even cats drinking PBR, all which are featured on notebooks sized perfectly for writing prose or poetry about your favorite felines.

There’s a sense of whimsy from another era in Lisa’s work: each time going back to her Etsy store is like unearthing a stack of greeting cards you found hidden in a trunk in your attic. In every drawing, you can spot 3D details, hand-sewn onto the paper good for an added old-timey effect. If you’re not a cat-lover, than you can still have your pick at other handmade hipster stationary items, such as the mixtape pocket journal. Lisa even makes  “Your New Boyfriend” sticker sets, which look like the inside of a vintage yearbook. Meow!
