King of Crap: Mark Pawson at London Craftacular!

by Chloé Burrow

Mark Pawson is an interesting chap. There aren’t many who can lay claim to being a ‘semi-retired international postal art superstar’ and ‘photocopier fetishist’ and count Björk as a fan!

Despite never attending art school, this one-man production line of printed ephemera based art has already racked up collaborations with BUST favourites Tatty Devine and Levis Jeans as well as having his books in the Tate Gallery Library and the MOMA New York Library collections.

Always full of fun, colour and statements, his range includes everything from art books and postcards to badges and signs. Look out for slogan badges including ‘Never throw anything away ever’ perfect for hoarders, and art books including ‘The Address Is The Art’ made from over two decades worth of collected envelopes from family and friends, junk mail and boring letters from the bank.

Check out his extraordinary range on November 27 at the BUST Christmas Craftacular in London. And for an introduction to his crazy world, head on over to his website! By Alice Hubley.
