Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wants To Hear Your Definition of Feminism

by Natalia Hadjigeorgiou

Mega hottie and all-around cool dude Joseph Gordon-Levitt wants to talk about feminism, and he’s interested in hearing your response.

Say what?!

After declaring he was a feminist on The Ellen Show and in various interviews, Gordon-Levitt did not anticipate the wave of anti-feminist comments he eventually received. Afterwards, he became interested in understanding the many different views of feminism and feminists. This inspired him to open up topic to everyone, fans or not, in order to explore the term and broaden the conversation.

His production company, hitRECord, starts its second season of hitRECord on TV, airing on Pivot. The show, which also features short films, live conversations and performances, broadcasts episodes that center on a specific theme or idea. An upcoming episode, with the theme “Mom” will include a discussion on feminism.

Here is where you all come in. Gordon-Levitt wants people to submit videos on the hitRECORD website answering the following questions:

1. What does feminism mean to you?

2. Are you a feminist?

The answers and the videos will air on hitRECord on TV for the feminism-themed episode. Hopefully some BUSTies will surprise Gordon-Levitt with thoughtful, thought-provoking commentary on their views on feminism and how it affects their everyday lives!
