Iggy Pop And Kylie Minogue Will Cover ‘Christmas Wrapping’ And It Will Be Amazing

by Taia Handlin

The Australian dance-pop singer will join musical forces with the long-haired, averse-to-shirts Stooges front-man this Christmas to cover “Christmas Wrapping,” by new-wave Ohio band The Waitresses, on her album Kylie Christmas. The tune is not a Christmas staple but a lesser-known tune that Pitchfork’s Lindsay Zoladz calls a “deliriously catchy, still-unavoidable holiday anthem.” It’s a bizarre-looking combo if nothing else and might sound equally as odd, but possibly odd enough to work.

The album drops November 13 and will also include duets with Minogue’s sister Dannii, James Corden, and even, posthumously, Frank Sinatra.

The original is a peppy Christmas pop meets rap number. Listen here:
