Head chains are quickly overtaking flower crowns as the thing to wear on your hair. Making your own is easy; you don’t have to jump through hoops, just squeeze ‘em together!
What you need:
– Flat nose pliers Small charm
– 10″ long chain for the middle (ours is a ½” wide decorative chain)
– Two 9 ½” long chains Two 10 ½” long chains
– One ½” long piece of ½” wide elastic Four ¼” jump rings
Instructions:
1. Using flat nose pliers, open one of the jump rings.
2. Attach one end of each of these chains to the ring in this order: the middle chain, 9 ½” chain, 10 ½” chain, then the charm, then the other 10 ½” chain, and finally, the other 9 ½” chain. Now close the jump ring using the pliers.
3. Poke a hole in one side of the elastic, open a jump ring and slip it through the hole, then attach the ends of one of the long and one of the shorter chains to the ring so that the shorter chain is on the top.
4. Close the ring. Repeat on the other side.
5. Poke a hole in the top center of the elastic, slip a jump ring through the hole, and attach the loose end of the middle chain to the ring. Close the ring.
Note: When picking your chain style, be sure you can fit the jump ring through the chain link.
