Horrifying: Man Tricks Girlfriend Into Taking Abortion Pills

by Laurel Walsh

This is the absolute worst. A woman from Florida has lost the baby she planned to carry to full term, thanks to the shockingly rotten actions of her now ex-boyfriend.

John Andrew Welden was arrested for murder this afternoon, for feeding abortion pills to his ex-girlfriend, Remee Lee, and ending her pregnancy against her will.

“Everyone dreams of becoming a mom,” Lee told ABC news. She says that even though she and Welden had disagreements about the pregnancy, she thought of him as the love of her life and trusted him completely. She says she was really excited to have the baby.

“I was never going to do anything but go full-term with it, and he did not want me to,” she said.

Instead of respecting Lee’s choice, or exploring any of the dozens of options available for people with unexpected fatherhood on their hands, Welden went behind Lee’s back and literally made her ill until things went his way.

He got the pills (Cytotec) from his father, an obstetrician in Tampa Bay. Weldon told Lee that his father had found an infection in her blood, and made it seem like taking pills was best for the baby. At the time, Lee’s pregnancy was about two months along.

Lee says Weldon instructed her to take three pills a day for days on end. She took them from a bottle he’d scratched up and relabeled to read Amoxicillin (an antibiotic). When she eventually ended up seriously injured and lying in an emergency room, doctors recognized that Lee had not been taking Amoxicillin after all. Heartbreaking.

Lee is now seeking a minimum of $15,000 in punitive damages, citing battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Let’s hope she gets what she needs.
