Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae And Octavia Spencer Are Starring In A Movie About The Black Women Who Sent The First Man To The Moon

The trailer for Hidden Figures has been revealed and if stories about historical women who overcame adversity seem to have a direct line to your tear ducts the way they do mine, the trailer alone will do you in. Hidden Figures is an untold true story starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae in the roles of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, and Mary Jackson, aka three of the women primarily responsible for NASA’s Friendship 7 mission, which made astronaut John Glenn the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962.

The movie is based off the book by Margot Lee Shetterly and focuses on their achievements as well as the obstacles and oppression the ladies had to overcome despite always being the smartest people in the room.
