While looking at images from the Royal Wedding it was not Kate’s beautiful dress, nor the Prince’s charming smile that I noticed. No, it was the unique sculpture atop Princess Beatrice’s head that left a real impression on me. It’s the most interesting hat I’ve ever seen, and I applaud the girl brave enough to wear it.
You’ve probably seen it by now—the Philip Treacy creation inspired an internet meme featuring things like cats popping out of the hat—but now it can be yours! Princess Beatrice is auctioning the fascinating fascinator on eBay to raise money for UNICEF and Children in Crisis.
So why is she selling it? Princess Beatrice says, “I’ve been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted. It’s a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have.”
