Har Mar Superstar And The Pizza Undergound On Tour

by Natalia Hadjigeorgiou

The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY was the first stop on tour for Har Mar Superstar and The Pizza Underground. They were also joined by the Candy Boys, a two-man boy band, starring D’arick and A’rick. They played hits “How Many Licks?” and “Hard Out There.” I loved their set so much! Adult men in crop tops singing and dancing about candy was so entertaining that I might just follow them on tour. Just when I thought they couldn’t get any better, they invited the crowd to dance on stage and whoever danced was rewarded with candy!

The Pizza Underground, a five-piece band including Macaulay Culkin, is a pizza-themed tribute band to The Velvet Underground. Yes, you read that correctly. Not only was the band surprisingly good, but also graciously gave the crowd pizza courtesy of Two Boots!

Last but definitely not least, Har Mar Superstar! This amazing man, also known as Sean Tillman, is signed on Julian Casablanca’s Cult Records. When he first added him to his record label, Casablanca’s said, “I was blown away by his voice, his confidence and his showmanship.”

Har Mar came on stage wearing gloves, pink and white tiger striped pants and a poncho. The crowd’s energy escalated when Har Mar’s set began. His voice is incredible combined with his general “I-don’t-give-a-fuck” attitude. A crowd member tried to call Har Mar out but was immediately shut down when Har Mar said, “Shut the fuck up man. I’m the comedian here.” I am a new fan of this man and will follow him on tour in a heartbeat.

Check out Har Mar’s song “Lady, You Shot Me,” which is my new favorite song.
