The Greatest Moments in Lego Videos

by Jodi Doff

The name Lego came from two Danish words meaning “Play Well”. Founded in 1932, who would have imagined the staying power of that first Automatic Building Brick? But these bricks are made for building and that’s just what they’ll do. Sixty years later, building on its successes, the company lent the Lego name to the first feature length direct-to-discount-video-bin Lego film – The Adventures of Clutch Powers – released this past February. Unless you’ve got a kid under six, skip it.

On the other hand, Lego Art abounds as does Lego Cinema.  YouTube lists 107,000 Lego videos. Vimeo trails behind with a mere 2,945 – but that’s still 2,944 more than the company who invented the little plastic brick.

Flavorwire combed through the best of the best and came up with their own Great Moments in Legos Videos – breaking them down into six Great Moment categories: Movies Scenes, Movie Trailers, Music Videos, Miscellaneous, Video Games, Star Wars (needed its own due to the insane popularity of painstakingly recreating this epic film series using little plastic men).

By far, the best of the best is Eddie Izzard’s Death Star Canteen, don’t you think?
