Get Your Knit On With Wool And The Gang At The BUST London Christmas Craftacular

by Victoria Woodcock

Well, this is how excited we are that Wool and the Gang are coming to the BUST Christmas Craftacular on November 22! For those of you that don’t know, Wool and the Gang is the East London tour de force that is helping to take knitting to a whole new place. Combining scrumptious yarns, patterns and chic kits with knit parties and a gang mentality, founders Aurelie Popper and Jade Harwood are “pioneering fashion production that’s made in a sustainable way, bringing back knitting as a viable means of production for generations to come”. And having studied textile design at Central Saint Martins and worked for Alexander McQueen and Balmain, they know what they are talking about.

At the BUST Christmas Craftacular they will not only be selling their wares but throwing some knit parties up on the York Hall stage (you won’t be able to miss them, just follow the yarn!). First up is a workshop to knit not with needles, but with your arms. Yep, make this chic snood pictured above with your own limbs. The two-hour class runs from 11.30am to 1.30pm and costs £20. Places can be booked online here.

Then from  2pm to 4pm you can get involved for free and crochet up a bracelet in their fab Jersey Be Good yarn (£8.50), which is  made from fabric roll off-cuts from fashion factories in Turkey – “a great choice for the environmentally conscious knitter”. Come and hang with the gang!

The Bust Christmas Craftacular is taking place on 22 November at York Hall, 5 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green London E2 9PJ.

Entrance is £3 on the door, with free goodie bags for the first 100 shoppers. Click here for more info.
