When I grudgingly picked up The Great Gatsby as a high school sophomore, I wasn’t expecting the story to stick with me. But the glitzy and glamorous world of the Buchanan’s East Bay was nothing short of enthralling. So naturally, when the trailer for the new adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” hit the web, I was sucked yet again into the stories of the ill-fated Jay Gatsby, childlike Daisy Buchanan, and every flawed character in between. I don’t know whether Baz Luhrmann’s take on the American classic (in theaters December 25, 2012) will strike gold or go down in history as a major flop. But in the meantime, I’ll swoon over Carey Mulligan’s gorgeous Tiffany & Co. jewels and Roaring Twenties-style accessories.
