Buy A Subscription, Get A Hand-Printed Bandana At The BUST Craftacular

by Byshera Williams

Brooklyn-based artist Jennifer Maravillas has created this beautiful Women’s Reproductive Rights Protest Bandana and we are giving away 20 of the them to the first 20 people who subscribe to BUST in person at the BUST Craftacular this Saturday! These unique, hand-dyed bandanas celebrate women’s rights and revolution and usually retail for $55.

Maravillas began creating one-of-a-kind bandanas as a reaction to the U.S. presidential election of 2016. With different designs inspired by religious freedom, immigration, and women’s rights, the bandanas are a reminder of the ideals we must uphold and the legacy of work in social progress handed down to us. The Women’s Reproductive Rights Protest Bandana pattern portrays the evolution of reproductive rights, from the time when women foraged for contraceptive plants to the introduction of the pill, from the ancient Venus symbol to a more modern depiction of the womb. Twelve dancers are depicted as protestors from across the world, surrounding a sacred circle.

The first 20 people to buy a BUST magazine subscription on Saturday (visit Table 93) at the BUST Craftacular will get a free bandana. The Craftacular is this Saturday, May 12th from 11am – 7pm at Industry City Factory Floor, 274 36th St., Brooklyn, NY. You can find more information about the event here!
