This summer New York will join the ranks of major cities worldwide with bike share programs. Here at BUST, we’ve been gearing up for Earth Day by scheming easy ways we can help the planet so this news is music to our ears.
Did you know that over half of the trips New Yorkers make are under 2 miles? Sometimes that rad new brunch spot you want to try is just too far to walk and too close for the subway. Enter sustainable, convenient NYC Bike Share and you’ve got yourself a fun new way to get where you need to go that beats waiting for the bus.
NYC Bike Share will launch with 600 stations and 10,000 (!) bikes located strategically throughout Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn (Williamsburg to Park Slope) with plans to expand into Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx. The self-service system will be accessible 24/7, and NewYorkers can pick between a long-term or casual membership. For more information, check out the official website here.
