Fat Girl Flea Market in NYC

by Kristina Uriegas-Reyes

Back for its 7th year, this fabulously inexpensive flea market caters to fashionable gals sizes 14+ and will be acting as a fundraiser for Nolose and The Femme Collective, two wonderful body positive organizations. The Fat Girl Flea Market takes place, Saturday, April 30th from 12pm-8pm at the NYC LGBT Community Center (208 West 13th Street, NYC on the 1st floor). Admission is $10.

Donations can be dropped off at the LGBT Community Center on Friday April 29th between 4pm and 9pm, or on Saturday April 30th (the day of the event) from 12pm-3pm, only.

The possibility of inexpensive vintage I might actually fit into? I’m so there. I’ve always been on the borderline of plus sizes at a size 12, but luckily, they mention on the website that there will be many things for size 12 and even smaller so an assortment of curvy girls will have endless options!

Then on Sunday, May 1st from 1-3pm, Lesley Kinzel and Marianne Kirby will be live taping their fantastic progressive fat politic podcast FAT CAST at Re/Dress, a premiere vintage and resale clothing boutique specializing in sizes 14 and up (vintage 10 + up). Re/Dress NYC is open 7 days a week: Sunday – Wednesday 12-7pm, Thursday – Saturday 12-9pm at 109 Boerum Place Brooklyn, NY 11201.
