Emily Nicole Green Redefining Herself in her Debut EP ‘Outrunning The Animal’

It took three years in the making, and prolific singer-songwriter Emily Nicole Green is now set to unveil her debut EP, Outrunning The Animal, on October 30th. This highly-anticipated 5-track record shows Green’s kaleidoscopic musical talents and dynamic songwriting.

At 40 years old, Green proves that age is just a number for following your passions. She has poured her blood, sweat, and tears into this record, which traverses genres from folk to pop to blues seamlessly. Each track offers listeners a glimpse into the

complexities of Green’s inner world as her poignant lyrics explore the spectrum of human emotion.

According to Green, the album title Outrunning The Animal refers to the multifaceted nature of being human – we all have an ‘animal’ side driven by impulse and a ‘human’ side guided by intellect and morality. She explains, “We can’t outrun the animal because we are the animal.” Rather than suppressing our primal urges, Green believes we must acknowledge and even embrace that chaotic side of ourselves.

That raw vulnerability pulsates at the core of each song on this record. “I hope these songs will offer the feeling that vulnerability is powerful and helps us connect with ourselves and each other,” Green explains. She aspires for her music to reach hearts needing solace and solidarity during difficult times.

The EP launches with Hole In My Heart, an ode to old-school country music with Emily’s powerhouse vocals front and center. Through vivid lyrics, she transports us directly into the agony of heartbreak. The twang of the guitar and Green’s vocal runs create an immersive experience for listeners.

Shifting gears, Wreckage plunges into bluesy jazz territory as Green’s voice shape-shifts from smoky to commanding. She captures the tumultuous aftermath of rejection, flawlessly emoting the anger and rediscovery of self-worth. The versatility on display here is striking.

On Thief, Green returns to her Americana roots for a stripped-down ballad that cuts straight to the soul. As she laments a profound loss, her voice echoes like a lonesome train whistle in the night. The simplicity of the arrangement magnifies the track’s emotional weight.

Exploring self-acceptance and personal evolution, Courage seems to ask: can we summon the strength to honor the legacy of lost loved ones by growing into our best selves? The chorus repeats like a mantra for overcoming fear and self-doubt.

Finally, It’s Gonna Be Okay envelops us in the reassuring embrace of pop melodies and comforting vocals. After the soul-searching journey through heavy thematic terrain, Green leaves us with a spark of hope – darkness is temporary, and brighter days lie ahead.

Green may be a fresh face to new listeners, but she’s no overnight success. The New York singer-songwriter has been penning original tunes since high school. But just as her career gained steam, crippling anxiety, and panic attacks derailed her musical journey. After nearly 20 years out of the spotlight, Green decided to face her fears and pursue her passion.

She returned to songwriting as emotional therapy, finding catharsis in converting aches into art. Through every high and low, each lyrical phrase rings with authenticity. She has woven five songs that feel both intimately personal and universally heartfelt.

On October 30th, the world will discover the breadth of Emily Nicole Green’s musical gifts and the wisdom earned from 40 years of living. Her debut EP delivers rich melodies and profound messages that will reverberate in listeners’ minds long after the last notes fade. Outrunning The Animal is Green’s magnum opus – a cathartic labor of self-expression poised to resonate profoundly.
