It’s Twitter-official! Ellen DeGeneres, comedian, talk show host, and flawless individual announced early this morning that she’ll be the host of the 2014 Academy Awards.
“I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra,” she tweeted. Aw.
Though it would be nice if Tina Fey and Amy Poehler could host everything, this is still set to be a delight. Basically because Ellen is pretty much the most lovable human being on the planet, and because she already has mad experience from hosting back in 2007.
At the VERY least this should help people forget the sexist clusterfuck that was Seth MacFarlene hosting the last Oscars. I don’t even really have a problem with him, but I’m STILL cringing from “We Saw Your Boobs.” Blergh.
