Educator and Advocate: Khushali Trivedi’s Role in Shaping Women’s Health Awareness

Dr. Khushali Trivedi works with women every day, meaning she’s constantly faced with the global problem of women’s health care. Through her numerous patients, she witnessed firsthand the effects resulting from the insufficient attention, funding, and research dedicated to pelvic health and postpartum issues. Driven by a desire to change the attitude toward women’s health, Dr. Trivedi has become an advocate and educator in the field. Her efforts span across her practice in New Jersey in conjunction with her non-profit work in India and Kenya, where she strives to improve healthcare for women globally.

Dr. Trivedi’s journey into the realm of women’s health started during her childhood in India. Growing up in a small town, she noticed the lack of health care accessible to women around her. This concern persisted when she moved to the United States and prompted her pursuit of education within the field. Initially assuming that this issue was specific to rural areas, Dr. Trivedi soon realized its global scope as she delved deeper into her higher education.

When she moved to New York to pursue her internship, Dr. Trivedi saw problems with women’s health care were prevalent even in big cities. There was more open discourse regarding menstruation in the United States, but common problems like postpartum depression and pelvic pain were still not properly cared for. All of this led Dr. Trivedi formed VediKh Care, a non-profit specializing in promoting women’s health care in the US, India, and Kenya.

She has earned the title of an expert in her field, boasting an impressive educational journey. Her qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy from India, a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Dallas, Texas, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duluth, Minnesota. Currently, she is actively pursuing a Ph.D. in Women’s Health Physical Therapy from Dallas, Texas, adding another layer to her already remarkable academic and professional profile.

While pursuing a Ph.D. in physical therapy at Texas Woman’s University, a highly competitive program focused on female health, Dr. Trivedi strives to promote women’s health education. She is a contributing author to APTA Pelvic Health and Brainz Magazine. As an expert content writer for the American Physical Therapy Association Pelvic Academy, Dr. Trivedi crafts articles that contribute valuable insight and enhance the knowledge of the pelvic health community.

She further contributes to the global discourse surrounding physical therapy, women’s health, and pelvic health through her thought leadership and expert opinions shared in Brainz Magazine. In addition to contributing to publications, Dr. Trivedi is also actively involved in reviewing research articles, judging the conferences in the fields of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Dr. Trivedi’s advocacy and educational work does not end there. She frequently gives oral presentations at conferences on pelvic girdle pain and postpartum lumbopelvic pain. As co-founder and Project Development Head of her 501c3 organization VediKh Care, Dr. Trivedi takes the lead in supporting global healthcare equality initiatives aimed at reducing period poverty and giving women better access to healthcare.

For her efforts, Dr. Trivedi has been recognized by several organizations. She appeared in the Catalyst in Women’s Health: Hall of Fame 2023: Passion Vista, and was acknowledged by Brainz Magazine with a CREA Global Award. Texas Woman’s University granted Dr. Trivedi the Write to Change the World Scholarship Award in 2022 for her outstanding contribution to impactful writing and the Student Research Presentation Grant Award in 2023 for excellence in research presentation.

All of Dr. Trivedi’s work is provoked by seeing women’s healthcare through a worldwide lens. As a global influencer and leader, Dr. Trivedi is bridging the gap between health care for men and women one step at a time.
