On May 1st, where did you eat lunch? It was Sunday, so I ate mine at home, in the living room in front of the television. But for a select group of people, an artful meal was served on the subway by the supper club and experimental culinary event host A Razor A Shiny Knife.
On the L line diners were served six courses as the train moved from Manhattan to Williamsburg. At each stop more food was brought aboard, so the timing had to be perfect for the delivery of hot food, especially since the dishes served were no simple feats. For their $100 reservations and the assurance of a “clandestine dining experience,” passengers enjoyed foie gras, filet mignon and chocolate panna cotta among other equally impressive plates.
It is all a part of Michael J. Cirino and Daniel Castaño’s mission to create opportunities for people to interact with food and each other. They wanted to present a unique and unfamiliar experience in an environment that becomes extremely habitual and commonplace. Mission accomplished!
