I used to really love Weezer back in the day, their first album is one of my all time favorites, but in the last, 5 or 6 years or so, I really could not get with the syrupy pop/anthem stuff, just wasn’t working for me. But the new single, Memories, from their forthcoming album Hurley, out on September 14th (on Epitaph) is really fun and hearkens back to the old school Weezer we know and love. The song is all about the 90’s, so us old folks can relate! Plus, who can resist Hurley himself on the album cover? (fyi, Rivers claims the songs on the album are not Lost related, as he didn’t watch the show until after writing them).
