Dreamy Video + Track for Musician Ela Orleans

by Intern Jessica Butler

Polish-born musician Ela Orleans recently put out a music video for the song “Elegy,” off of her latest tape release, and it’s just right for meadow naps during the golden hour. High Moon Low Sun is out now on Clan Destine Records, and is Orleans’ newest release since 2011’s excellent LP Mars Is Heaven. “Elegy” is a dreamy track, featuring the artist’s haunting vocals, some jazzy trumpet, and an uplifting jingling melody that carries throughout. In the video by Nattymari, Orleans self-harmonizes lyrics by Sara Ellen Lessard over the sleepy and calming tune, while a compilation of re-colored vintage clips play in slow motion. The music video plays like a botched up collection of memories replaying in your mind as you drift to sleep–perfectly mirroring the hazy tone and pace of the track. Also, is that the lovely French actress/novelist Anne Wiazemsky I see?
