Do You Want To Skate Like A Girl?

by Katie Zanin

As a predominantly male-based sport, skateboarding can be difficult for girls and women to really get into. Seattle-based organization Skate Like A Girl (SLAG) has been creating equal opportunities for skateboarding ladies since 2000 and has now expanded down the West Coast with chapters in Portland and San Francisco. Organizing committees and hosting various skating events are huge parts of SLAG’s endeavors to provide girls and women with a community in which confidence and talent can thrive.

If you live in or near Seattle and are looking for a place to skate this winter, be sure to check out SLAG’s weekly skating events at Bellevue Indoor and Skatebarn!

Check out Skate Like A Girl here and come out to an event if you’re in the area! Everyone is welcome: All ages, All Abilities, Always!
