There is no certification required for becoming a Youtube “beauty guru.” It’s fine when young beauty aficionados share tips on clothing, confidence and how to apply makeup, but they embark on shaky territory when they start pretending to be dermatologists.
Whether it’s an urban myth like using toothpaste as a spot treatment, or rubbing half a lemon covered in sugar directly on your face, don’t trust advice from anyone who doesn’t have any sort of professional certification, because HELLO, duh. Also maybe don’t trust anyone who goes by a username like xxBarBie43X unless they are Dr. xxBarBie43x, okay?
One of my favorite Youtube guru’s is Veronica Gorgeois, who is a professional Esthetician and has made two videos that are v. important: Beauty DIY’s that you should never try, and beauty DIY’s that you should try. So please watch these, and learn and stop rubbing toothpaste on your face, got it?
