In addition to the hellish summer heat we’ve been subjected to as of late, here’s another reason that’ll have you frantically counting down the days until Fall: Dita Von Teese, the unofficial queen of all things retro, burlesque and vintage, will be unveiling her very own clothing line. Vintage fashionistas, rejoice!
The performer/fierce fashion icon currently has a fragrance, cosmetics, and a lingerie line, but all three are woefully not yet available for purchase in the U.S. The clothing line—set to make its debut on September 19th at the Los Angeles luxury vintage and consignment boutique, Decades—will be the first of Dita’s lines to be available in the U.S.
Inspired by her own vintage wardrobe, a product of the past 20 years, the five-piece collection is a culmination of Ms. Von Teese’s love of mixing together practicality with the feminine raciness she’s notorious for.
“I’ve always liked the good and the bad together,” she told the New York Times, “I’ve always been intrigued to take something that’s both dangerous and sexual and make it more friendly, make you want to be part of it.”
So what can we expect out of this highly anticipated line? “Four dresses bearing coy names like Follow Me and Second Look, with details like silk crepe de Chine linings and grosgrain waistbands,” according to the New York Times. The collection also features a tulle-lined trench coat which Dita is shown wearing, above–its fit-and-flare shape straight out of the 50’s. Moral of the story: it’s officially time to start counting down the days until September 19th!
