My brother is pretty awesome and always tips me off to rad bands way before I ever would’ve heard about them. This weekend he dished the goods: Dreamdate is a two-gal-one-guy trio from Oakland, California and I can’t stop listening to the tracks on their MySpace page. Luckily there’s six of em up so I haven’t memorized all the words. Yet. It’s sweet-dreams indie pop at its finest, lo-fi love songs that remind me of The Aislers Set (one of my fave bands of the early 00s), and the Raincoats, the perfect makings for an end-of-summer road trip soundtrack. Check em out! If your tastes run a little less twee, give Nodzzz a whirl. I think they’re kind of amazing and not just because I’m related to the drummer.
