Crafacular Vendor Spotlight: Jessy’s Pastries

by Erika W. Smith

At the BUST Craftacular, all that shopping will make you hungry for a snack….and when it does, you’ll want to turn to Jessy’s Pastries. Jessy’s Pastries makes Peruvian pastries called alfajores as well as savory empanadas.

Jessy Nahmias, the Jessy of Jessy’s Pastries, grew up in Lima, Peru and moved to New York City at the age of 17. She writes, “Along the way, just like any good pastry, a fusion of my Peruvian roots and my New York life happened, baking together the best of my two worlds.”

Each alfajore starts with two delicious buttery cookies and are filled with something yummy — caramel, Nutella, or caramel with rum. They’re then sprinkled with something sweet and pretty, such as powdered sugar or coconut flakes. Jessy’s Pastries also offers empanadas with a variety of flavors.

So, if you come to the BUST Craftacular this weekend, feel free to shop til you drop — Jessy’s will be here to revive you. And if you can’t come, you can still enjoy Jessy’s delicious treats by ordering online. For more information on the BUST Craftacular, click here.
