Gabby Douglas has it all. She’s adorable, amazingly talented and is now a two time gold medal winning gymnast. Douglas is basically America’s newly crowned sweetheart and she definitely deserves the love.
Today, Douglas won herself an all-around individual gold medal for her crowd pleasing and gravity-defying skills. This one will go pretty nicely next to the team gold medal she won earlier this week. The “Flying Squirrel” beat out Russian gymnast Victoria Komova in a tight competition with 62.232 points versus Komova’s 61.973.
This sixteen-year-old is one for the history books (or blogs?). Douglas is the first African-American to win the all-around gold.
Congrats Gabby! I don’t know anyone else that can make winning (or wearing a metallic magenta leotard) look so easy.
