Coco Is Back With Their Second Album: A BUST Review

by Erin Wolf

Coco is a chamber-pop trio of master scenesters with multi-instrumental talents at their disposal. Featuring members of Dirty Projectors, Lucius, and Pavo Pavo, the tight-knit group’s years of shared experience created the perfect incubator for their thoughtfully moody songs–a sound emerging from a self-proclaimed foundation of mutual trust and admiration. Despite (or perhaps because of) recent life changes (engagement, marriage, children), Coco’s second album – simple called 2- sounds unhurried, poised, and mysterious, evoking moments of classic indie folk and vintage downtempo sounds with elegant brushstrokes of jazz and classical, all melding together to breathe each song into being.
