In a sea of generic Playboy and Hollywood bombshell calendars, there’s finally a calendar that honors the curvy, beautiful ladies of our lives. It’s rare these days to see women in the media that aren’t Photoshopped and airbrushed into oblivion. Thin bodies are glorified in our society, and too often every other type of body is not given the appreciation and representation they deserve. The portrayal of plus-sized bodies in the mainstream is rare, and is often considered inappropriate or vulgar. But the lovely voluptuous women of the world, and our everyday life, are anything but, and deserve their time in the sun.
Pudge PDX is setting out to achieve just that. They’re a group of people who are looking to promote unlimited self-love. The Portland-based group’s first project on the journey to acceptance of all body types is a plus size pin-up calendar. Complete with glossy pictures of gorgeous plus-size women in a variety of different outfits and situations, the calendar is truly unique and groundbreaking. However, in order to make the production of these wonderfully positive works of art a reality, we need to contribute!
Help Pudge PDX reach their $10,000 goal and donate whatever you can to their Indiegogo page ($25 will get you the calendar, pins, a sticker and a thank you note!). Based on what you donate, you not only can give yourself a pat on the back for giving to such a worthy cause (embracing the beauty of and empowerment of women all shapes and sizes), but it includes certain perks including having your named added to the donor list, behind the scenes footage, and of course the calendar itself!
