Catch Soko Doing It All!

by Natalia Hadjigeorgiou

We are still obsessed with French singer/actress Soko and you should be too! She is currently an opening act for Foster the People, on tour this fall. (Find out when she is coming to your city here.)

Soko released her debut album I Thought I Was An Alien in the US in June 2013. The album has fourteen tracks of lush beats, synthetic drums, and keyboards. They have an undertone of melancholia but are swept away with Soko’s soothing voice.

In an interview with Oyster Mag, she described her writing process for her album, “With music, I make music that is soo deeply personal and vital to me there’s no other feeling like finishing a song, it is the utmost creative achievement for me.”

But the French singer does so much more! She has directed her own short film, “Monster Love” and voiced Isabella, the sex surrogate in the film Spike Jonze’s film Her. She also participated in the viral video “First Kiss” which has over 91 million hits on YouTube and has deejayed for multiple fashion events, some including Chloe and The Kooples.

While waiting for Soko to come to your town, continue to fall in love with her music and directing by watching her short film “Monster Love.” BTW, she has also directed most of her amazing music videos. This girl can do it all!
