It’s not exactly the kind of summer camp where you roast marshmallows and tell ghost stories, but instead you can stomp around New York City with other feminists (like yourself) and get involved with all things feminist!
Registration is now open for Feminist Summer Camp, which might be similar to Camp Anawanna (without your panties on a flagpole) and is a great opportunity to learn different strategies and approaches to feminist organizing within NYC. Co-founders Amy Richards and Jennifer Baumgardner (authors of Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future and Grassroots: A Field Guide for Feminist Activism) are hosting a week-long event filled with workshops, networking, and some one-on-one time with your favorite speakers, writers, and activists.
For feminists ready to enter the professional world or even those who are looking for internships opportunities, thesis ideas, and course credit. Feminist Summer Camp is open to college juniors, seniors, and postgraduates of all ages, levels, and abilities. This is a perfect opportunity for all of our BUST readers to get involved and active with issues including sexual rights, reproductive justice, sex work, the arts, trafficking, and human rights. You’ll even get a chance to stop by our office!
The workshop has two different summer sessions, June 5th through 11th and June 12th through 18th. You will finally have a chance to work alongside feminists and meet feminists who have inspired you! Don’t waste anymore time, find out more here (deadline is April 1st).
