In case you’ve ever desired a hand-crocheted beanie with an embroidered sloth patch: look no further. The Dahlia Soleil Collection features a variety of hand-crocheted hats and machine-embroidered patches created in Queens, New York. The owner and designer, Paulette, named her business Dahlia Soleil after her 10-year-old daughter. She pulls the inspiration for her work from her upbringing in Barbados, where her grandmother taught her to crochet. Paulette says on her Etsy profile that crocheting gives her an opportunity to speak without using words.
Dahlia Soleil’s iron on patches range from the awesome Whoop Ass design pictured above to adorable like the heart-spotted camera. These easy-to-use patches could jazz up an old jean jacket or backpack in a heartbeat, and those hand-crocheted hats will keep your ears nice and toasty in the coming winter months.
