In conversation with Extra’s Mario Lopez, Britney Spears admitted that she’s considering retirement after her over-the-top two year stint at Planet Hollywood for the “Britney Spears Piece of Me” show. The Las Vegas show opens December 27th and is rumored to have more dancing than ever and a plethora of props and gags. If this is her last hurrah, it seems like it would be a good note to end on; she explains that it is both her hardest and funniest show to date.
The idea of Britney retiring is almost incomprehensible: she has been with many us since our playground days! The star guided us through our adolescent discoveries and inspired us well into adulthood. What’s next for our beloved Britney? She sees romance on the horizon. Her new man, David Lucado, isn’t in the industry, and for her, that’s a welcome change. “I feel like the chemistry kinda speaks for itself when you date someone out of the industry,” she explains. We could also see some more kids in her future: “I may have two more kids and get married… I’d like to have more kids.”
Whatever she does next, professionally and personally, she will remain one of the most iconic pop stars of our generation, and we’re lucky to have her!
