In honor of the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day, three globally conscious salons will be donating 100% of their proceeds to Next Aid on March 8th, 2011. Next Aid’s Beauty and the Beats supports projects in Africa, including the construction of a facility for a street youth project in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya and the establishment of maternal health programs for women and girls in Sierra Leone.
Here in NYC, Fringe Salon in the Lower East Side of Manhattan will be hosting a cut-a-thon between 6PM and 9 PM on March 8th, where all their proceeds from styling, haircuts, and bang-trims will go to the cause. With music by DJ Dhundee, as well as food, drinks, and our latest BUST issue, clients will receive a free gift bag and will be entered in a raffle. Primrose Organics Salon and Boutique in LA and Miami’s Primp Salon and Hair Extension Boutique will also be contributing their proceeds to honor these current projects and create awareness.
