Anderson Cooper did not light any children’s dolls on fire, but he did kick a Barbie off his show. A real life Barbie.
On Tuesday, Sarah Burge, dubbed the “real life Barbie” because of her extensive plastic surgeries, chatted with Cooper on his show. Cooper, known to most to be a pretty nice guy, and even known to break down from time to time in a fit of adorably contagious giggles, became visibly angry when the two began to discuss Burge’s daughters.
[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy7vy-lFA_k 425×344]The crux of the argument was that Burge gave her young daughters vouchers for future plastic surgeries, redeemable upon their eighteenth birthdays. Kind of messed up, no? By giving them vouchers now, Burge is essentially telling her daughters that they are imperfect and will need the surgeries. Some birthday gifts. She’s given her eight-year-old certificates for both breast implants and liposuction, and encouraged her fifteen-year-old to get Botox.
Upon hearing her reasoning for encouraging Botox injections for her daughter (to stop her sweating), Cooper replied with this: “Um, I honestly have nothing more to talk to you about. I’ve got to stop, sorry. I try to be really polite to all my guests, but I think you’re dreadful and I honestly don’t want to talk to you anymore.” An honest man. Afterwards, he said he regretted having her on the show in the first place and felt she was only seeking publicity.
